| Dear Readers,
This poem was
written by my oldest daughter. She is now a single mother and she wrote
this awhile back. Today she was cleaning out closets and drawers and found
it and sent it to me. I wanted to share it with you. Below the poem is
how she is feeling today. This is just a reminder to you all that abuse
once becomes twice and carries on to more.

Misker
A broken home
full of broken
dreams
Life's exactly
as it seems.
Broken vows
broken hearts
it's all completely
torn apart.
Two left crying
paying the
price
not just once
but thrice.
Punishment upon
punishment
they receive
for to their
homes
they cannot
retrieve.
At a friends
they must stay
not for one
or two
but for many
a day.
Two young children
left to cry
neither understanding
the reasons
why.
Mommy and Daddy
cannot speak
and mommy's
feeling
mighty weak.
They see the
bruises
that she must
carry
that despite
clothes and tears
she cannot
bury.
They see the
loss of their home
and they see
the men in blue
for two young
girls
tonight
all their nightmares
came true.

Mom,
Thought maybe
you might be interested in it. It chilled me and made me confirm one more
time I don't ever want a man again. I will never be hit again or pushed
or yanked. There will be no more abuse in my home EVER!!! So I will venture
alone and be safe rather than venture love and risk my heart being broke
along with my pride, spirit and bones.
Now I am headed
for a shower to wash this disgusting feeling away .
Love Tonya
P.S. Guess there
are some things you never really get past. Things you never really forgive
and definately never forget. |
