Dear Readers,

Do you ever wonder why humans cannot be more like critters?  I do. But then I am a little off the wall and a bit eccentric so that does not mean everyone else thinks like me. Thanks heavens eh? LOL

I look at life a little differently than a lot of people I know but it works for me so that is ok. I am sure that somewhere along the line I was meant to be a critter because I relate so well with animals. Sometimes, even better than I relate to humans.

Critters ask for so little and yet give so much in return!! Why can't humans be like that? Why do humans have to be so complicated and confusing sometimes? Why can't they be like critters and be as nice and as forthcoming and as sincere 100% of the time? Why can't humans be willing to give of themselves more than trying to see what others can give them instead? Points to ponder--don't you think?

Sometimes I like my critters and feathered creatures better then most humans!  They are happy with the simplest of things. As long as they are comfortable and have someone to love them they are usually happy.

Animals do not tend to rush around in a tizzy trying to beat the clock to get things done. Instead they seem to take time to enjoy things along the way. Ever notice how they stop to smell flowers or the air? Or how they protect what is theirs with their lives - especially their babies. They seem to live by Shakespeare's saying  "To thine own self be true". How many of us live by that? Another nice thing about animals is that they always have time for you and never put you off with excuses.

Animals seem to really enjoy their lives. They frolic and play in the sunshine and they spend time with their young teaching them about the ways in life and never seem to take the attitude that they are too busy for their children. They tend to combine living and learning with fun.

They never need the ultimate best in everything but are content with enough to get by on. They do not put on airs or think they are better than anyone else. They just keep being themselves and do not try to alter themselves by trying to be what others want them to be. The just give the best of themselves that they know how. No pretending - no lying - no exaggeration of their power over others - no trying to change others to their way of thinking.

They know what their jobs are and do not have to be reminded. They know that they are to protect and love their families and see to it they are taken care of. They are kind and loving and gentle. Yet they use a type of gentle discipline to teach their young the lessons they need to know in life to survive. They take time to play and relax and it is rare you see a stressed-out animal. They do not need pills or shrinks to help them keep their lives in control. They spend their time just being themselves and doing what critters are supposed to do.

Yet we humans cause ourselves so much stress and headaches at times. We are so busy rushing through daily life and trying to be what everyone else wants us to be or thinks we should be, to even begin to just be ourselves. We are so busy meeting everyone else's demands that we forget to meet our own. Then we break down and say "what's wrong with me" or "what did I do wrong?"

What did you do wrong? You forgot to take the time to find you! You forgot to take time to enjoy the little things in life. You rushed so fast trying to please everyone else that you left you behind in the aftermath. You forgot to take time to relax and to be yourself.

We humans forget to stop and take time to enjoy life and before we know it, it will be too late because life will be over and we will have missed the best parts. Maybe we could all learn more from watching animals. I know I learn things all the time from watching critters.

Until next time...
hugs
