Dear Readers,

Well I had my youngest granddaughter spend the night again. It was time for me to have some more lessons in life so I invited her over.  :)

By the time she went home today I definitely saw the resemblance between her and my Uncle Tommy who is in his pleasant but befuddled 70's. Justine and Uncle Tommy seem to share much of the same logic.  Personally I think they spend too much time pondering things.

This session taught me that when I am too old she is going to take over the "Den-izen Gazette" because she thinks that I have been remiss in not having a weather report column. She informed me that after all people need to know when it is raining and when winter is coming. As she stood over my shoulder watching me put up "Invoodagations" she commented on what should and should not be in a newsletter.

She told me about a family picture she had drawn at school. She put her household in the picture and all her grandparents and she informed me that everyone was standing up except her Grampa John. I asked her how come he was not standing up and she said "Well Gramma, he never moves - all he does is sit in his chair and read or play nintendo and go to the bathroom and drink coffee -- so I put him in the chair so he did not have to move in my picture either because it might be too much work for him."   (hummmm out of the mouth of babes comes to mind here) hehehe

Justine watched me making cabbage rolls and she pondered why the cabbage was almost white when I put it in the hot water and yet was a nice green when it came out. She figured it should be red because if she put her hand in the boiling water it would be red when she took it out. Now there is one for you all -- who can answer that one to Justine's satisfaction? I really do not want her to experiment with her hands to find out an explanation. :)

As she watched me add everything to the raw hamburger and then roll it into shape and place it in the cabbage leaves she furrowed her brow and decided that when she grew up she would just have me make things and put them in her freezer so all she had to do when she got home from work was put them in the oven for her supper. That way she will never have to cook. She said "That way if my kids complain about supper it will be your fault they do not like something, not mine." She also informed me that if I bake lots for her freezer then her children will adore me like she does.  Somehow I can see some logic in this." LOL

Justine told me when I make something not to tell her what was in it and then she would eat it and not know she did not like it and think she liked it.-- humm -- ok I can understand that I think. After all if you think you do not like something I suppose the best way would be to not know you are eating it. Now how do I camouflage rice and turnip? Her mother makes a spinach salad and then does not tell the kidlets they are eating spinach and they assume it is romaine lettuce. -- LOL -- Now I really see deception here. :)

I must admit my daughters' logic in hiding things in green leaves and disguising it in a salad bowl does work because my Uncle Tommy is convinced that cucumber slices will kill you but he does not seem to notice when I chop the cucumbers up and hide them in a salad.

Uncle Tommy also informed me that if you use a tea bag twice it will kill you as well. He swears that many years ago he saw a death certificate and that is what it said on it - that the man died because he had used the same teabag to make 2 cups of tea. -- LOL -- Being as he cannot read a single word I am still pondering this one and due to the fact that I have used my tea bag to make more then one cup of tea many times in my near 50 years and I am still here definitely defies the logic in Uncle Tommy's thinking for sure. :)

Justine told her Mom that she loved her weekend with Gramma and that she is coming back real soon to babysit me again. Now there is a new twist on things.  :)   Gee I like it when she babysits me because we get to watch Walt Disney movies and eat popcorn and drink pop and play games. She has to be the bestest babysitter I ever had!

Well folks doing all this pondering about the lessons Justine taught me this weekend has made me a bit tired so I shall go for now and memorize what I have learned before she returns another day to teach me more things about this modern world. At least the homework on her lessons is easy.  :)

Until next time
hugs
