Dear Readers,

Well it is quite the weekend here. I have my granddaughter Justine with me because her parents went to the Havelock Jamboree. The Jamboree draws a huge crowd and they are expecting well over 10,000 this year so it is no place for a wee girl to be wandering around in this day and age.

I was a bit worried that she would be bored here but so far so good. It definitely made me sit up and take notice when she piped up and said -- "Gramma it is ok if you are boring because I brought my Gameboy just in case you were." Well harumpfffff  !!!!!  LOL

She discovered that my bed had a controller and was quite delighted laying in it for awhile pushing buttons and making different sections of it go up and down and then she discovered it had a massager so now she has dubbed it "Gramma's Rumble Bed" because it makes a noise when the massager is on.

Hummmm wonder if that is anything like the old rumble seats in cars way back when. Something tells me I am way off base on that assumption. hehehee

Justine was amazed to find that Grampa John actually does move and does not always sleep in his big armchair in his sitting room. She was sitting at the table in the kitchenette and he sneezed and all of a sudden she said -- "Gramma, Gramma you won't believe it but Grampa moved !" Well this was great news because since I learned he can move I decided that we would take Justine out to supper.

Ah the amazement in a little girls world is really something. I have learned this weekend that all colours match and they all belong together. There is no need to match up outfits because if someone thinks it looks odd then too bad so sad. Now here I have spent my lifetime trying to be sure that things matched and went together only to find I am definitely not in style with her generation. She told me that it would save a lot of time on laundry if I did not worry that things had to match because then I could wear whatever I wanted and wash the clothes later when I felt like it instead of it being a necessity.

What a waste of good play time my life has been worrying about looking organized and decently put together eh ? LOL

I also discovered that to save time washing dishes you just eat out of the containers the food comes in. She was amused that I did not think everything you eat is microwaveable and I was amazed that she would think it was. Humm wonder if she will become a famous chef when she grows up ?? Somehow I do not hold a lot of hope for that.  :)

I also was informed that most men lie to you to get their own way and that when she grows up she will marry a rich man so she can save money to live on when he leaves her. She informed me that men are not to be trusted because they are too sneaky and women need to look out for themselves so they are not left high and dry and broke. She believes that women are the smarter gender and that if we teach men to do what we say they will be better off and much more intelligent because they listen to us.

She has decided that she will have 2 children - a boy and a girl but if for some reason there is a mistake made and she gets 2 children of the same sex that will be ok too and she will keep them anyway because it would be rude to send one back.

Now where did she get ideas like these ?? hummm me thinks I need to talk to my daughter heeheehe

Ah the joys of being a child are wonderful aren't they? I have done nothing but giggle at her and the things she comes out with. I have to wonder where her imaginative mind will take me next.

She totally agreed that it is great that I have my own bedroom and my own sitting room the second that she heard Grampa John snore because she said that he is so loud he would wake up the cemetery !  ROFL My sentiments exactly I am afraid.

She had her choice of places to sleep being as my brother Feather is at her place baby-sitting the other 2 girls and the dog. She could have slept in his bed or put Aunt Barb in his room and had her bed or she could have put Uncle Tom in Uncle Feathers room and had his bed. But she decided that we should put a mattress in my bedroom so she can sleep on the floor so that no one will bother my poodle in the nighttime and if she can not sleep she can at least watch tv in my sitting room.  Ah she is such a good planner isn't she?  Definitely has all the bases covered I would say.

Justine spent time on my computer chatting with my friend SueCat and informed me that Sue and she shared a connection because they both like cats and that Sue was making her a kitty page and I could just add it to her site with no problem. Humm glad she is so computer smart because I would not have known what to do for sure. LOL  Seriously though she does know a lot about the computer for her tender age of 9 and I am surprised at what she can do.

When I explained to her that my spaniel was not allowed in my bedroom she immediately agreed that since he is a male he should not be allowed in a girls room because that would be rude to be sleeping in the same room as my female poodle. Oh my -- now how do I inform her it is because he has this inclination to pee on a floor that has a carpet but no where else in the entire house?  Guess I will just keep this secret to myself and not burst her bubble.

Well I must be off as Justine is calling me and I am sure I am about to learn some new lessons in life.

Until next time
hugs
Misker
