Think About It!
I have some rules I try to
live by. I fall short sometimes but then I am only human. I thought
I would share these rules with others just to kind of give a wake up call
where needed.
1. Live each day like
it is your last--tomorrow may not come and what you do on the last day
of your life is what will be remembered by those around you.
2. Always tell your
children how important they are in your life--Remember they are a blessing
from heaven to be cherished and loved no matter what they do.
3. Do not bask in anger
or vengeance because what goes around comes around. Vengeance is not adding
peace to your life it is adding chaos in most cases. Judge yourself before
you judge others.
4. Try hard to treat
each individual the way you yourself wish to be treated--be a reflection
to others not a bad memory.
5. When something goes
wrong in your day or someone breaks a treasured ornament try to think ahead
and think "will it matter 5 years from now"--the ornament or object broken
is gone but the hurtful words you say to the one who has broken it will
stay with them forever. Remember the broken item is inanimate, the one
who lives with your anger is human.
6. When angry at your
spouse, try to remember why you married them in the first place. Remember
how much you loved their little ways? Remember how endearing the
things they did were? Do not use your anger of the moment as an excuse
for adultery or anything else you feel needs justified. There is no justification
for anger.
7. Try each day of
your life to do something nice for someone else, even if it be just some
kind words. Be diplomatic and considerate of others' feelings.
8. If you must dwell
on something--dwell on the beauty of nature--dwell on the good feeling
of laughter and forgiveness--dwell on the fact that no one is perfect--we
are all human and we all do things that someone else does not approve of.
Instead of dwelling on what is wrong with the world dwell on what is right
and try to improve it by improving yourself.
9. Accept all colour
and creed because we are all human beings with the same feelings and wants
and needs.
10. Be willing to reach out
and touch someone who is less fortunate then you are. Everyone needs a
friend.
11. Think about how you wish
to be remembered by others once you are gone and create those memories
while you are alive.
