Dear Readers,

Well the most horrendous thing happened today!!  I had no phone service from 7:30 in the morning until nearly 5:30 this afternoon.  Which meant I had no internet!!!!   harumpffffffff

Well as you all know being as it was my day to put the newsletter together my first thought was ackkkkk!!! No internet!!!!  Oh me oh my!!!  How tragic!!!

What shall I do now ? -  was my next thought.

Well I will tell you what I did.

I discovered that I could still use my puter without internet LOL

I spent the day putting a personal touch on a few things that I had been neglecting.
I took the time to get started on making my own Christmas cards for all those who mean so much to me so they will know I thought of them and did not just run out and buy the same card that 100 other folks will get from someone this year.

I took the time to make Hallowe'en cards for my beautiful grand children instead of running off to the store and buying one. Now they are personalized with Gramma's touch and not Hallmark machines that print them out 1000 at a time.

I took the time to read a story to my Auntie Barb that she had been bugging me to read to her for about 2 weeks and the smile on her face and the light in her eyes was well worth it.

I took the time to colour a picture with my Uncle Tommy and put it up on my wall so he knew how special it was to me.

I took the time to sit down and actually have a nice chat with my hubby and we laughed together.

I took the time to go outside and play with my dogs and my kitty cat and as they raced around the yard happily it felt good to watch them.

I took the time to go through some photos of my sweet grandchildren and remember good memories.

I took the time.

Think about it folks. Have you "taken the time lately?"

There actually is a life after internet and we need to remember that.

Think back to before you had internet. What did you do to fill your hours then?  Don't forget that we still have a family to take care of and love and spend time with. We still have some old fashioned things that we should still do. Things like sitting down and writing a real snail mail letter and not just sending an email because it is faster. Things like sending a real card and not always just an ecard at the last moment. Things like colouring with the kids instead of saying "Honey I am busy right now on the computer."

Folks remember to "take the time" to put a personal touch on some things in life. Before the internet stole us away, we did those things.

Take the time to call a friend or family member who may be missing you. Take the time to spend with a senior citizen or a child and do something that makes them feel special and brings a smile to their faces.

Spend time with your partner so they feel special. Take the time to add your personal touch to some things you have been neglecting since the internet stole you away.

The next time my phone lines go out or the power is off and I can not get online I hope I remember to take the time to add the personal touch to someone's life. In fact folks I think that from now on my internet will just have to stay off before noon and go off again during supper so I sit with my family to eat instead of at my desk as I so often do. Family time should come before internet time and I am like many others guilty of forgetting that from time to time.

So folks remember "to take the time" now and then and shut the internet off for awhile each day and do something personal for someone else. You might be surprised at how good it feels.

til next time
tons of hugs
Misker
