Critters
The kiss of my puppy upon
my face
Makes even 6 a.m. part of
the human race
The purr of my kitty as
she walks on my head
Says "Get up Mommy--You
sleepyhead!"
Then my parrot starts whistlin'
and I know it is time
To roll out of bed and and
toe the line
They run my life and keep
me young
Whether I like it or not
my day has begun
Down the stairs we go at
a fast pace
"Come on Mommy", or I'll
wee everyplace
The critters they call me
to hurry my speed
And I better listen or clean
where they wee'd
Past the kitchen we go where
I get to pause
To plug in the kettle for
tea after the cause
Out the balcony doors they
do excitedly run
As I look bleary eyed and
think this is no fun!
Around and around they run
in a dither
Finally stopping to wee
all together
I sigh in relief believing
it's all o'er
But puppy comes in and wees
on my floor!!
