Lord Father, where do we start to talk to you
about the events of the recent days?
My mind is whirling with thoughts 
as I look at the events unfolding.
I know you know them too.

Help me to make sense out of all these things.
Help me to see through Your eyes and Your heart.
Because only there will I find the answers that I seek.

Grant me, if not understanding, the ability to love
when there is hate, to forgive the unforgivable,
to have compassion where none is deserved.

Help me to give to others what You gave to us
through Your Son, Jesus Christ.
Bring peace to my heart Lord and to others
who grieve and hurt and cry out to You.
Hear all of our prayers, Lord--Your will
be done in all things.

I love You, Lord and I thank You.  
Help us all in Your wisdom.
In Jesus Holy Name I ask these things.
